Default Like a paddling pool in car.

Hi guys wondering if anybody can help please.
Been out in car (vec c sri 2002)this morning to find that the passenger front and rear footwells absolutly soaking wet and a puddle of water on the floor, there was no windows open, however the car has been standing on my drive since last sunday so its been standing for 5 days, there is no sign of water/wet anywhere apart from in the floor wells,so it must either be the door seals or coming up through the floor.
    please help

Has it been raining? Check under the skuttle panel. If you open the bonnet, on the passenger side of the skuttle you will see a flappy but which you can lift. Here you will find the polin filter. if you look just below the polin filter (you don't need to remove it), there is a drain and it should be clear. I wouldn't be surprised if you find bits of rubbish or leaves blocking it. I would this is the source of the problem.

When this drain gets blocked water backs up under the skuttle and spills over through the polin filter and down through the glove box giving you wet footwells.

The door seals won't be the problem so it's £120 you shouldn't be spending.

P1405 refers to an EGR valve problem, and won't be linked to your wet footwells. However, to answer your earlier question, yes you need a new pollen filter now, and also check that the heater fan works on all 4 speed settings, as the water that came through the pollen filter can sometimes damage a resistor and leave the fan only working on speed 4.

Regarding the EGR fault code, find the EGR valve on your engine and make sure you didn't accidentally knock off the electrical connector when you were checking the pollen filter.
