    Default Air Conditioning

It's the first time I have tried mine after the winter and it seems to be dead. What sort of things should I be looking for?

When I turn it on there doesn't seem to be a noticable clunk in the engine like there used to be, and the revs don't seem to move (when idle). The light on the button goes on (so the button itself I suppose can be ruled out ), but the air is no cooler.

    Any ideas (and costs involved)?

    Thanks!

Go to Kwick Fit and have it re-gassed £49, they put it onto a machine that tests for leaks. Then re-charges the system. If they find a leak, they dont charge you, uless you get them to fix it?

    Had mine done in Sunderland.

It needs a regas when you get it done you need to turn it on every week for a couple of mins and you wont have any probs if you dont use it the little rubbers in the system perish and leek gas so if you run it every week or so it will keep the rubbers greased up.

Same happened to mine but as I had only had the car a few weeks the dealer regassed it for free and it works fine now.

From what I understand the machine drains the old gas, leak tests it and then refills, but wont refill if it finds a leak. Took the garage about 30 mins and mine is still cold 2 weeks later.

I had the same symptoms as you - no cold air and no click or drop in revs when switching it on.

They only refill the system. They don't carry out repairs to the AC system as they haven't got the required knowledge.

You also need to use the AC all year round - not just when it's cold.

    Use it, or lose it.
