    Default guide on fitting springs?

    hi my back springs snapped on vectra recently so i have just picked up some new lowering ones. is there a guide on how to swap over? also how easy is it or is it best left to a mechanic. im qwite good at practical stuff never done this. cheers dean

    Can be done on your drive not to bad to do really my 2nd go on the signum we had for a short time was done in about 1 1/2 hours in total

    Back ones are really easy to do and the front are not to bad either but you will need a tool to compress the front springs

    ar right mate, thats the i dont have, like a clamp. im debating weather to or not. im just being impatient

    can do the rears about 10 mins aside but the fronts need a spring compressor but are easy enough to get off otherwise

    The way to look at is - the money you save doing it yourself will easily buy you a pair of spring clamps and you will have the satisfaction of a. Having done it yourself b. Knowing that the job has been done properly and c. While doing these jobs it gives you an ideal oppurtunity to have a good look around underneath and hopefully prevent further jobs.
    Get yourself a Haynes Manual (not perfect but will give you some idea of what is involved) or use this forum to find out the finer points. Build up a collection of good quality tools and before long you will be surprising yourself what you can do and cutting the cost of running your motor. Good luck with it
