    Question Door Won't Unlock

Went out to the car this morning, zapped it with the key to unlock it, tried to open the passenger side rear door, and.....nothing

Tried the key again, still no joy. Then I locked up, and started again.

The door pin on that side shoots up and down several times when I try to unlock it, and finally comes to rest about halfway between the locked and unlocked positions. If I time it right, I can sometimes open the door during the process of the pin going up and down, but after that, no chance

    Any ideas, peeps?

Sounds like a central locking control unit of some sort.....tried unlocking with a key?

My 306 had this problem....Up down up down and then Up. I could only lock it with the key. There was control unit in the drivers door that was belly up. got it fixed under warranty.

Only a guess, but I reckon it a simple malfunction of the central locking mechanism. A trip to the dealership I'm afraid matey.

If it's faulty then yes it will be covered under the three year warranty. and/or Network Q.

I sincerely doubt it. That's in no way a factor that would affect the central locking, the module is miles away from the pins.

Unless they tray and argue that the pins are sticking?

That's probably all they could try and argue, but it'd be pretty clear if they were or weren't I'd have thought.

Oh, just thought of a wheeze they may try if they're so inclined...."Sorry sir, those door pins are heavier than standard and they've put extra stain on the motor so it's knackered but it's your fault so we won't replace it!"
