Default I've Found Another MOD I didn't Know Was There

Driving back from Blackpool yesterday in that cr@!!y rain and had the rain sensitive intermittent wipers on and the rear one on my facelift 06 estate. I had the sensitivity switch down as low as it would go.

Well the wipers go occasionally dependant on the level of water on the screen as does the back one. As the speed increases, so does the back one. When it goes at three times the speed of light, the back one goes constantly.

What a great feature except that when the rear wiper is going constantly there is no water to wipe so I ended up turning it on and off constantly. I'll retract that it is an utterly useless feature.

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove the link between the two, so it wipes occassionaly in this mode, otherwise it defeats the object of the rain senitive wiper mode and knackers the blade quicker.

Is the feature the same on hatchbacks?

The way mine seems to work is push stalk up, front wipers on rain sensing. push stalk away, rear wiper is on intermittent. you can turn the rear off any time by just pushing the stalk away again. To be honest i wipe the rear when i get in, then put the heated screen on and leave it. The car wipes the rear for you when you stick it in reverse if it detects rain, that's good enough for me.

I have to say. This feature is great. I always have the rear wiper on in the wet, due to being an estate. Without it I cannot see anything after a couple of miles due to all the **** on the roads around here.

Wish the Meriva had this option

It is the same on the signum. Don't use the rear wiper very often; i push the stick now and then in city traffic or at lower speeds
But the automatic wiping when stick in reverse is very good

It is extremely useful.... driving up a WRC Special Stage in force 8 winds with rain coming in horizontally from behind, it came in very handy last weekend.
