Default z20net boost control valve sensor

hi, i had trouble with loss of turbo boost, warning light came on. i got the fault read came back boost control valve sensor, i got the part no. off the original 12787706 and replaced it. did'nt work then read on here there was another simular valve under the plastic cover so i put the original valve back and replaced the the 1 under the plastic cover with the new 1!!! so now i have 2 valve/sensors part no 12787706 fitted and the car runs like a dream!! i'm confused!!!!
i've since read the part nearest the turbo should have been part no 55354158 and part no 12787706 under the plastic cover but mine were the other way around

    can anybody please confirm!!!! thanks

Have a read of Jezzy's Z20NET specification sheet (a sticky thread in the petrol engine-tuning section) and it mentions the boost valve near the turbo as being 55354158, and then Deztroyer's update in that thread mentions the second valve, near the ECU, being 12787706.

They are both called charge air boost valves, not very expensive

So you've got the wrong sensor in one of the locations, but you think the fault lies elsewhere...?

yeah i no , well i will try to get the other number 1 then , but fault poss lies with afm as thats the code 0102 , but i changed this first 6/8 months ago & just keeps coming back, also done both lambdas as 1 was broken but didnt bring up fault, the boost controllers ( although 1 could be the wrong 1)

well quick google & copy & paste brought this up so yep they are different off to dealers monday

Charged air bypass valve part no 55354158

Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control part no 12787706

well put the new sensor in 7706 & fitted it , took for little drive & up pops eml light fault still the same i been chasing for 6 months 0102,

changed afm (fuel parts)6months ago when this 1st occured least now got 2 different sensors ,
only thing i could see different apart from numbers is on the metal pipe end of the sensor the 7706 has a bigger internal diameter,

so with this in mind should it be nearer to the wastegate actuator rather than being on the inlet manifold & just being an air bypass valve ie what 4158 is labelled as but this part is fitted at the actuator end,

mine is now like caveman nige in post 2

also dj1 have u now got fitted 2 7706 valves fitted

that error code tends to be MAF related. try taking it off and blowing through it with a can of air duster or even an evaporating cleaning spray like carb cleaner. Clear your codes, if you don't have a gadget for this then disconnect your battery for half hour..
