Power Steering Fluid TopUp

Hey all

Getting a bit of whining from the power steering so going to top up the level to see if that makes any difference. I checked the bottle location and I believe it’s a bit of a result as I have the white bottle with the dipstick in the cap at the back of the engine (1.8 Vectra C on a 2004 plate) so nice and easy to get at (I assume this is the right bottle)…

Question is how much do I put in… When I checked it last night the fluid was below the level of the dip stick… the fluid which is in there is green and looks clear so topping it up seems ok to be to do…!

Should I fill it to the top of the dip stick… The middle or lower than this?

Oh and to add to my question...

Do I top it up with the engine running and the car (engine warmed up) as I found conflicting posts on this...?

Engine running and warmed up. Turn to full left lock then full right lock (to ensure the fluid is fully pressurised and all channels are filled). Then take off the cap and check the level. Top up with Vauxhall's specific power steering fluid if required.

Do not use ATF, Dexron, Diaqueen or anything else. It must be the proper green stuff from Vauxhall. It's not expensive though, thankfully.
