blower on setting 4 produces burning smell and smoke, have striped out and grease, but didnt have a syringe at hand to get grease right in, anyone help out.

heater pack might be on its way out is it ok on the rest of the settings

anyone got any ideas,.
before you bought the car the previous owner may have had the water come through the pollen filter which basically dryes the greese out inside the fan
this then makes a squeeking noise
does it do that?
