    Default Goodbye Vectra

A sad day (well, Monday was anyway) - my 3.2 Elite has been scrapped. Still I've had it nearly 8 years and done over 97,000 miles in it (was on 115K when disposed of).

It had got to the stage where a serious oil leak (maybe cooler, maybe cooler + somewhere else on the right side of the block), plus a rotting exhaust, plus cam belt (over-)due plus service due as well as MOT nearly up meant I would almost certainly be spending well in excess of it's value.

I've enjoyed reading and occassionaly contributing to this forum over the last few years, but will be fading away as I can't see me getting another "C" and I just don't like the look of the Insignia.

    All the best.

You should have put it on ebay mate. Leather seats alone are worth more than scrap value. Wouldnt have fetched a fortune but certainly more than the 200 nicker they give you to turn it into a washing machine.

Well least u got your moneys worth out of her whilst you had it!

Its always a shame to see a decent car scrapped - the price of some parts and emission related stupidity must be scrapping loads of half decent cars.

That scrappage scheme was a case in point - the most enviromentally unfriendly thing ever!
