    Default Upgrading 1.9cdti brakes

Hi all, I've been reading the various threads on brake disc sizes and am probably going to go with 314 discs and calipers. I'm going to do the spraying with silver hammerite thing on the centres and edges and spray the calipers a colour just not sure which colour would go with Digital Green, maybe yellow?

Where's best to source the disks, calipers and carriers. Search the breakers or are they cheap enough from Vx?

Once I've got all the parts do they bolt straight on?

Best place to get the calipers and carriers is either ebay or on here..... Personally I'd never use used discs and pads, thats just asking for trouble! If you pay the £12 for full membership you can tehn get a trade club card so that you can get items like discs and pads a lot cheaper from VX dealers, most of the guys on here seem to agree that genuine discs and pads are the way to go without spending a load!

Cheers for input. Don't worry I'd never use worn discs or pads, just the calipers and carriers. So the discs and pads are reasonable from Vx dealers? Got a feeling it'll be a different matter with the calipers!

Yeah, I think the pads and discs come in around £65ish with trade club card, the calipers and carriers are v expensive brand new and the carriers can be hard to get hold of. Better off trwaling the bay and keeping on the parts section on here, I got my 314 calipers and carriers off Marktaylor on here... I just need some time to get them fitted now!

If you go for 314s then the discs/pads are £55 ish with club membership (Tradeclub).
In fact, you will same much more than the £12 or £15 that it costs to become a full member just on the disks/pads as the 3.0 stuff isn't cheap anywhere really.

For the rear brakes upgrade to the 292mm vented setup from the same cars that have the 314's...... calipers can be picked up cheap on eBay brand new, just the carriers that aren't as easy....

I take it you went for those on eBay then Pete!

250 for calipers, carriers and discs which I thought wasn't bad as its hard enough to find any! They were advertised as a SAAB setup primarily but from what I've read the parts are identical? So should I be looking for SAAB or Vx brake pads?

I'll be spraying them myself anyway
