    Question Power Steering Light

Hi everyone need a bit of help please Have been reading thread's on this tonight bout this basically my power steering light keep's coming on & going off again but the steering dosnt seem to go heavy when it come's on . It does spend more time on though. I have read bout checking the level which i will get the car down my m8's garage asap. Doe's the level go down after time? the car's just coming up to 65k can't see no visible leak anywhere & is that really the easiest way to check it or has someone found an eaiser way? Thank's for your time on this one any help most grateful

Sounds stange but the easiest way to check the PS fluid level is to remove the front bumper skin....

Your pump is under the OS headlight, so take the bumper skin off and you'll have loads of access to the pump.. check the level and the unions for leakage..If the light is coming on, but not affecting the steering assistance, then the pump motor is still running okay..hopefully it's just a low level..But check all along the flexible hoses for and sign of fliud escape..

the max to min is only about an inch, so it's really sensitive to level changes..

Just an update i checked the power steering level & it was down just a lttle so topped it up & checked everything no leak's that we could find anyway so then started the car up & guess what? the light still keeps coming on & going out

You don't have to get it reset do you?

The steering has felt the same all this time so could it be just a sensor? I think there's three altogether angle sensor, pump level sensor & not sure what the other one is. Can anyone help before i have to go down me local steeler's cheers

That may be the way forward.. sounds like you have software issues with yours..when mine went south they cleared the fault and updated the software on my car..
