Exclamation Fitting & Installation of ABS Harness & brake Help sensor sensor

I have had the ABS & Tracking light come on for a while due to a fault in the wires.

The code ABS Fault & NSF Wheel speed Sensor, I have purchased this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2709564341...9#ht_500wt_969

and the modification wire to brake sensor I believe and clip as the part above is a modified one and wont just fit in. Could someone help me by providing a diagram of where this wire goes and the brake sensor / wheel speed sensor. I have tried to look for the Diagram on the net and had no luck so just need to have a look at where its going. I have had a look inside the passenger side and can see some similar looking cables but need to be sure / Would be easier to jack car up or jack and remove wheel to do this

What is the part number of the item that you have bought? I can't read it on the picture and I can't see that it's quoted anywhere.

I guess you have already checked that your car was in the right VIN number range?

Post the part number up and also search for it on www.opeloem.com as the diagram may enlighten as to where it fits.

Hi Part Numbers are 24418887 and 24427919. I checked the cable which I believe is the abs harness which was torn & the speed sensor is wrapped around a few other wires. i am sure it is meant to be connected to wheel some how.

I believe the parts are also wrong for my car could someone provide a diagram of where the ABS Harness should go and the speed sensor.

    Many thanks

You are right about them being wrong.

How many cables do you have under the N/S wheelarch? There's 1 if you just have the wheel speed sensor and 2 if you also have a brake pad wear sensor.

24427919 is the cable for the brake pad wear sensor if you have it fitted - it fits into the front of the brake caliper and has nothing to do with the wheel speed sensors and therefore with your fault (there is a specific warning light for brake pad wear). There are several lengths of these cables for different models of Vectra C and this is one of them. Take a look at http://opeloem.com/vauxhall/vectra_c...ts_contd_.html.

24418887 is described as being for the front wheel speed sensor but in the picture below it's shown on the back! I suspect it may be for the back because the front axle wheel speed sensors are built into the hubs and have a captive cable (which connects to the main wiring loom at the back of the wheelarch on earlier cars and on the suspension strut on later cars) whereas the ones on the rear axle have a wiring plug on the back of the sensors themselves. Take a look at http://opeloem.com/vauxhall/signum_2...r_harness.html

I think they are wrong as well.

I have one wire and then two little wires that out below it from a socket. Ones Blue and the other was dirty so no specific colour.

Looks like you can return both of these cables then?

As above, are sure the damage is the cable and not the sensor itself? What is the fault code that you have?

If the cable is damaged and it's between the back of the wheel hub and and the wiring connector under the wheel arch then you'll have to repair the cable or replace the hub because the cable goes straight into the hub and the speed sensor is built into the hub.

If the cable is damaged is above the connector under the wheelarch then you'll have to replace that part of the wiring loom (if that's possible) or repair the cable.
