    Eek Will it fit!

Does anyone know if standard sized 3m kitchen worktops would fit into a Vectra-C saloon with the passenger & back seats dropped?

The missus bought some new worktops from a local supplier and didnt realise there was a £60 delivery charge. The store is only 12 miles away!

Unclip the rear seat base and leave it at home, fold the rear seats down. Move passenger seat fill forward and full recline. Remove headrest. Take some cloths so the end doesn't scratch the dash. Should get it in.

    Where's the store mate?

Unlikely, but it depends on how wide they are. It's 2m from the back of the boot to the back of the front seats. So if you fold the front passenger seat right back (or forward if you've got that option, but I don't think any saloons got that type of seat), then you can get a 3m long plank of wood in diagonally, with it just touching the dashboard.

Get a tape measure and go and have a look - the Vectra is an incredibly awkward car for carrying things in, it's got bits that stick out all over the place making it narrower or lower than you'd expect. Or maybe I've been spoilt - my last 3 cars were Gen II Subaru Legacy estates, which give you a totally flat boot that's 2m x 1m x 1m (plus a bit more space side to side in front and behind the rear wheelarches).

dont know about the saloon , but the hatch back ,when i had to carry a big long item , i just left the boot open but tied it down , this was only a short distance also . you may find it better to go just before they close ,as at that time the roads are not as busy . khalid

the vectra has gone , but not far away so ill still see it form time to time

If they did an LPG one and they were available second hand for under £5000, I might have done. Was after a Vectra estate really, but they don't come up in Dual Fuel form very often...
