Default egr blanked - 2000 miles and no limp home home

I have a y30dt engine and blanked the egr with a plate, i've now done 2000 miles without any problems. Anyone else blanked theirs and not succumbed to limp home mode, or am i in for a nasty shock some time in the future?

Has it been driving better, any change in fuel economy. I read through a couple of articles on here (lengthy), I just bought two pre-fabricated EGR blanking plates (high quality smooth) for £9 from ebay. I'm planning on keeping one as is and drilling holes in the other if necessary. Hedging my bets as it were.

You guys read this thread yet http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52983 ??

My Y30DT has a blanking plate in with 2 x 6mm holes. I have to run this set up to stop the judder/chatter/whoosing I was getting from the EGR. Now been in for around 2k miles with no problems whatsover and the car is smoother throughout the rev range than it was without the plate.

I really should get round to looking at this damn EGR thingy but I keep putting off.

That's the one I read, and another one similar somewhere. Hence I bought two EGR blanks as there have been mixed experience with completely blanked/standard/drilled so I can change mine easily.

    hi guys

i have the y30DT. The garage where i bought my car from says they blanked my egr off, was around 119000 miles, now on 127000.
As far as i know i have not had any problems until recently. my car lacks power when i put down any hard acceleration there is nothing but i can still get a good 80 - 100mph out of her building up slowly. my problems are in the 2500 - 3000 rpm range..its svc territory, i wanna try all avenues before i go down that route.

Change the fuel filter and give it some diesel treatment. When was the fuel filter changed? Mine was a lot better after the comma diesel treatment, but a bottle in half a tank, then another in a full tank and it was much better.
