    Default Wheel arches

    Hi guys,

I've been talking to Duncan over the past few days about the state of the arches on his car

So I gave the wife's Clio a bit of a wash & wax today, when I wash any car the wheel arches get a good clean aswell, I didn't think about pictures untill I was ready to dress the arches, so here's a few pics, I'm no hpotographer , none of which are before's but I'm sure you get the idea: -

Have been cleaned and dressing applied

    And again

    Nearly done

    And the finished article

If anyone is interested, next time I'll try and remember to do a full write up complete with before pics aswell

    Bryan

    PS I'm only joking Duncan

What product(s) are you using on there Bryan? Do you need to make sure you don't get it on the tyre treads?

    Hi Duncan,

Here you go the routine complete with products used: -

    Hose down
Apply Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner (APC) via a spray bottle, Apply to wheels aswell
Brush with a stiff brush (arches only) for wheels I use a cellulose sponge
    hose down
Apply Autoglym Super Sheen (known in Halfords as Vinyl & Rubber Care)

The last step above should be done AFTER you have washed the car i.e. finished spraying water around.

APC is £9.50 for 3.78ltr and is diluted 4 parts water to 1 part APC, Duncan has the details of the supplier with a view to him becoming a trader on Vectra-C

Also toilet brushes are perfect for getting rite into the arches.

    Bryan

PS have you done it already Duncan?...........no..........well HURRY UP LOL

very clean bryan so i take it the super sheen acts as a protectant against the salt and road grime under the arches ?

    Hi David,

    How's things?

Yeah that's exactly what it does and it means that when you come to wash your car again the wheel arches are real easy to do and it's very fast process.

Give it a rty and see what you think, it does set the car off, people know something is different about the car but can't quit put there finger on it.......but it does look really good trust me

    Bryan

PS the next time I'm in Brighton I'll do it down there and get Duncan to take the pics they MIGHT be a bit better eh LOL

    Cool David

The first time you do them, that's if they haven't been done before then it will take about 7 or 8 minutes per arch but after that it's a very quick process and as I say it's well worth it.........well I think so anyways

    Bryan,

Jeez - i didn't kow Renault did a 4x4 version of the Clio! those arch clearances are pretty spectacular! Did you jack the car up to give you more space to work around the arch?

Is AG vinyl & rubber dilutable?? It's just that i bought some a while ago and i agree it does make the arches look factory clean but the bottle that i got from halfords didn't last very long, maybe i was a bit trigger happy!

But, i can't complain, both times i've ordered from him his deliveries have been made on the day he said they would and the prices are VERY good!!
