Just take out the old one, fit the new one and plug it in. Job done. If the car is running badly just unplug the MAF for now and the car will go to a default map ignoring the MAF sensor.

Thanks for reply cont1204, thats good to know its plug and go. The car is running fine apart from mpg gone down slightly and when pulling off from cold start does not respond straight away. Could anything else cause the faulty maf code to be there, eg o2 sensor's or something?.

Most of the time the faulty MAF will over fuel causing the O2 sensor on the front manifold to burn out. Word of advise only fit a genuine MAF and not a cheap ebay one otherwise you will get issues going forward
