    Default Tuning box question

I have a vectra sri cdti 120 and am looking at going down the tuning box route in the near future. My question is which is the best one to go for and has anyone on here ran one of these and then rr'd the car to see if the box is getting the stated power increase?

When I had my Astra SRi CDTi 150 I fitted my DTUK box to it and it improved the performance no end. I didn't RR it, but they claim on average 20 - 25% power increase. Plus, it increased my MPG too!

Yeah I've seen these, they look a good bit of kit. I take it these are like a generic remap in a box for a standard setup?

I'm not sure. I think a 120 CDTi box regardless of car will fit the 120 CDTi as will the 150 CDTi. But I'm sure that my box for the 150 (as any box can) can just simply be returned to DTUK and they will re-program and if necessary exchange the leads, (for a small fee).

I'm very wary when it comes to tuning boxes. I remember the first one I bought for my fabia vrs. Out wasn't a tuning box at all but just a resistor in a box that fooled the car to put more fuel in. I'm after something that is actually like a remap. Thats why I'm doing my homework this time around.

You're thinking of something like this then

TBH you'd be just as cheap with a map

Wow thats expensive! The reason for wanting a box over the remap is that I'm not after anything permanent. Something I can remove if the car is sold. I went down the remap and decat route with my vrs and it put a few people off when it came to selling, so ended up losing money.

I have a DTS tuning box in my veccy cdti 150 and it has served me well. I've had it for about 2 weeks and lovin the power and mpg increases.

I've just fitted a DTUK Red box. It's currently set up as the previous owner had it and it and the power is amazing but you can actually see the fuel gauge dropping when you boot it so I think I need to turn it down a bit!! lol.

If you keep an eye on the for sale section and on ebay you'll likely find one second hand for £100-£150
