    Default Signum 3.0 V6 Re-Map Booked

I've managed to find somewhere that will re-map my car for a reasonable amount. This is a standard map rather than a custom map but still a large amount cheaper than a good tuning box.

It's happening on the 30th and the chap seemed quite knowledgable after speaking to another 'professional' who wanted circa £100+ more and said he'd have to replace the chip in the ECU.

    Hoping all goes well.

I won't have a before, sadly, but there are a couple of rolling road places near work. Addlestone/Chertsey, so I'll get it in afterwards, unless a meet comes up.

Im sure you have done your own research. Just a couple of points which are obviously just my opinions.

The 3ltr CDTI is known to be high on BHP standard, so for the sake of a few extra quid it is worth getting a before RR.
Also given the horror stories related to mapped 3ltr (although yours is a preface so should be safer then post) I would be getting a custom map so I could discuss with the mapper the safest way to map the car limiting the risk to the fuel pump and gearbox/clutch (although the later seem to be ok up to 400lbft).

As said this is just my opinion and I will be watching this thread with interest as I keep considering going back to a 3ltr.

I've contacted quite a few and had mixed results, I've seen a few recommended in other areas too far away, found one that seemed to have rave reviews literally a couple of miles from my house, he was the one that didn't seem to know the engine (which isn't a good start).

I've been preparing for this, serviced and into VX to check ECU was up to date (as I couldn't have it done after), field remedies applied (including one related to injector phasing).

I stupidly bought a £90 tuning box, then realised it would be a pain in the bum to fit and as it was a cheap one, I wanted to make sure I could remove it easily. Needless to say I didn't fit it and it's here alongside me, still brand new in box.

Although a standard map, I'm not having an aggressive one done, it's a balanced map. I want a bit more power, drivability and economy (if possible).

Car is just about to hit 78K so average mileage with, until I bought it, FVSH. Service was due in February. I had it done then but by an independent I trust.

It will be serviced regularly afterwards, particularly the fuel filter, approx every 5K.

Watching with great interest, being a standard map what are the quoted power and torque figures increased by? And what's the place? Do they have a map for the z30dt?

210+ I think. I forgot to check the torque, which as it happens is the most important

I want smoother and a bit more punch lower down. It's funny watching little hatchbacks out accelerate you initially until the turbo cuts in, then it's gone!

Be aware that the clutch my not be capable if the torque does get above 370lbft. The VXR, 3.0CDTI and 1.9CDTI all have clutch problems when the torque gets near 400lbft. Usually they slip in 4th - 6th on the road. There are a few upgrade options, Sachs, Black Diamond and CG Motorsport for example.
