    Engine : 2.8 Turbo

Default I think Vauxhall are missing a trick

We've got the Vectra VXR and EDS have the 340bhp Vectra under development, surely a 4wd version would've been a good idea. With the power levels those cars are pushing out it's really testing the limits of the fwd layout, but 4wd would handle it with ease and it would give them the option of taking on the Imprezza WRX and Lancer Evolution. With 340bhp you're aiming for the M3 as well.

Think about it, Subaru performance and handling but with BMW luxury. Makes sense doesn't it.

Yep, and they've had previous experience of 4x4 in a car with the Calibra so you'd think they could develop it for the Vectra C. Can you imagine that 888/EDS VXR with 340bhp and4x4!!

If rumour control is to be believed the development of an all wheel drive system for GM cars was near completion, but it was axed in favour of the Saab 93 sportwagon development.

In my humble opinion, the introduction of the Vauxhall/Opel Antera (Frontera replacement) will open new doors for all GM power hungry drivers

Very true, but Vauxhalls last 4x4 system was finicky blooming set up to say the least, the transfer box was very fragile, you had to go as far as keeping ALL four tyres at the same level of tread, or it trashed the transfer box !!!
So one puncture can mean four new tyres !!!
If you look around a lot of the Calibra and Cavalier turbos that are still in existence, they have been converted to run front wheel drive only because of this very issue.

got to agree, the 4WD fitted to the cav and calibra was a nightmare. Most of them are as GG says FWD or the transfer box locked out and set to permanent 4WD, both have their problems though.

What you have to bare in mind is that the 888 Vectra 340 is not a Vauxhall model, it is product of a tuner. The standard Vectra VXR is perfectly capable at 280PS with it's FWD, this fits the criterea for Vauxhall.

Opel have built prototype Vectra C 4x4's but due to the design of the floorpan, the system could not be used in a Vectra C package.

At this time in it's life, no major change will happen with vectra C, but from sources I know Vectra D is being built on an all new floor pan which apparently is designed to take, FWD, RWD or 4x4.
