They will stick out 21mm more than your standard wheels but will have the same clearance on the inside of the arches.

I would only imagine it would cause an issue if the car was lowered beyond standard.

Spacers will cause them to stick out more which should be avoided if you want to reduce the risk of fouling the arches.

Good size tyre as well. Most 18's come with 225/40/18 which puts the speedo at 60mph short by 1mph but the 235/40/18 is much closer at only 0.3mph slower.

Why would the width of the tyre change the speedo?

    225 is the width

40 is the profile (which can effect the speedo)

    18 is the diameter

My standard alloys from Vauxhall are 225/45/18 which is in the book

It affects the speedo because the sidewall is 40% of the width of the tread, so 40% of 225 is less than 40% of 235 mate, basically the 235 is very close to the std. sidewall height and gives a very similar rolling radius to std.

They should fit no problem. I'm running the same Irmscher sportstars on my signum, all be it mine are 8j x 18" - ET35. I have 235/40/18 tyres too.

Standard snowflakes are 8j x 19" and have an offset of ET43, so your only talking 13mm differance, and 5mm more than what I'm running. Ive just had another quick look at mine, and Ive loads of clearance yet. Easily squeeze another 5mm in there

For the money they are asking, and the quality tyres, I'd take their hand off. That said, i'm going to refit the snowflakes soon. The sportstars were off my old astra coupe and were only fitted for the winter whislt I sourced a replacment snowflake due to a crack. The sportstars look good, but dont look very big? might just be me? They looked flipping fantastic on my coupe, but the signum dosent pull them off quite as well.

Id post a pic of mine, but its dark out and I dont have one on file. If you still want one tomorrow just say.
