CD70 In Pre-Facelift Vectra C?

Hi all,

Just wanted to double check before I spent the money: I have a pre-face lift Vectra C SRi CDTI 1.9 120bhp which came with the standard CD30. I have had a look around eBay and this forum and fancy upgrading to a CD70 Navi.

I understand that I need the colour screen which is 'married' to the head unit so have found the following complete kit:

Would this work in my car? If it would, could I get away with just swapping out the whole centre vent unit rather than trying to fit the colour screen into the existing screens space?

Also, would the following be a direct replacement for my car as mine are the basic pre-facelift without the chrome:

If you have a Cd30 you have full canbus and therefore you can fit this upgrade, however your vents are a different shape in the corners so the centre vent panel will not fit exactly, the preface is pointed in the corners not rounded, you will also need a Fakra fit sat nav aerial but these can be got from ebay for less than a tenner
The vents can be removed and swapped to the front plates as you have the same problem in that the cutout is not the same shape between the facelift and prefacelift

1st is your car full or half canbus. Full = scroller wheels on steering wheel and half = 3 buttons either side. But it's not impossible with pre. A Rosby on here has one in a Cavalier, he'll be along later tonight ;-)

2nd the vents won't straight swap as the corner edges are more curved on the facelift and square on the pre. But you can just swap over the chrome scroller wheels to you own vent.

A couple of final questions before I take the plunge!

1) Is there an external input for the CD70 for connecting in mp3 players / phones etc?
2) Is the CD70 Navi any good or is there a better factory fit option out there with DAB etc?

Sorry for the questions but just want to make sure before letting loose with my credit card :-)

The CDC40 is DAB compatible. A bit more work than the CD70.
