Default Advice on Mileage in Diesel Signum

Hiya Folks, well by my calculations, i should have enough money by around the middle of next month to go buy me new motor. I have decided (Almost) that I'm going for the 1.9Cdti 150 model.

The question i have is about mileage, now i aint gonna have a fortune to spend, im probably looking at around £3200 or thereabouts, depending on the next paypacket. Now iv seen some nice looking motors, but with a lot of em been reps cars, there high milers... Should i be bothered about this? Im obviously looking for service history but i dont wanna be hit with a car that might die...

How long do these engines go for with good service history?

Any advice greatly appreciated, as always

Cheers.. Mitch. Soon to be Signum Mitch! Cant chuffing wait!!!!!!!

Main points i can think of is,

    1. Check the DMF, listen for rattles, etc, if they go its about £600-£700 to replace
    2. Check to see if inlet manifold replaced.. thats another expensive job.
    3. Check injector wiring plugs, see if yellow or blue... blue is good yellow is bad.. not an expensive thing to fix

I'm sure others will add to the list of what to check...
btw, mines on 230k now, flywheel rattles a bit was changed at 100k or so,
    showcar is on 70k

    Default

when i was looking for mine i was looking lowish miles so it had a few miles left in the flywheel or go over 100k for one thats already been done
normaly i dont care about the miles as my astra has 206k on the clock at the min from a 1.6 petrol and my landrover 186k

but i was not in a rush to buy and did want a elite so waiting a week and one come up and was local with 60k and auto so dont have to worry about the flywheel
plus its a fully packed elite

some go earlier some go later, key is to listen to it... if you test drive and blip the throttle you can hear a rumble type noise on the run down of the engine, or if you've been accelerating and then back off you can hear it then... Also in neutral if its pretty bad you can hear it but if you dip the clutch it disappears..
