Default some advise on DA pads

hey guys, just got hold of a meguiars g220v2 da and wondered if someone could point me in the direction of some pads and maybe a smaller backingplate, currently has a 6" plate with no pads.

looking to get a few polishing and finishing pads but havent a clue what is a good choice.

You can get a smaller backing plate that fits think its 3" from monza car care off ebay and they also do really good deals on the pads

You will need a 6" and a 3". I have always preferred chemical guys hex pads on a DA.

Monza have their own pads on at BOGOF, £9.99, at the moment too.

I have the orange ones and they are quite firm. Black ones are soft, good for finishing with the likes of SRP.

You should always start with the least aggressive pad and polish, for light swirls the black pad and Megs#82 may be all you need. Even black and 80 may be enough. Then you'd try The Orange with 82 or orange and 83. Its what corrects the easiest, whilst removing the least amount of clear coat.

I'm seeing lots of 7" pads do these need a 7" backing plate or would the 6 be used?
