Well i have owned the car for 18months now, so i guess i should put a little diary up for it.
Its been a great car for me eating up britains motorways over the year or so especially since having the car remapped with the EGR deleted the fuel consumption has improved by about 10mpg on average and the car seems much more refined. The only failure being the clutch which failed out the blue, but other than the clutch all it has needed is general service items.
Here is some pictures from when i bought it back in December 2010 from Autoquake with 25k on the clocks.
First thing i did was buy a full XP2 kit from Husky, but for some reason i never put my hand in my pocket and paid to get it painted and fitted yet, so for the past year these parts have been sat gathering dust in my garage!
I managed to source brand new genuine SRI smoked tail lights and centre brake light.
Once i fitted the centre brake i set about fitting the VXR spoiler as i was informed if i fitted the VXR spoiler i would not be able to change the centre brake light without great difficulty!
Then i set about fitting the tail lights, before:
For some reason the standard gearknob fell off for no aparent reason, i managed to bodge it back on with glue but it was never right, so a couple weeks back i managed to source a VXR gear stick assembly off ebay for £50 which looks and feels 100 times better now its fitted!
The day after i fitted that my brakes started grinding so on my way home from work i stopped at my local vauxhall garage and bought new discs and pads all round. Once i removed the old items i was quite shocked to see how badly worn they were, the rear pads were none existent!
And my latest purchases due to one of my rear springs snapping are:
. Eibach springs
. Genuine rear upper control arms
. Genuine front top mounts
. Genuine front top bearing
. Genuine front and rear anti roll bar bush's
. Meyle uprated saab 9-3 drop links
So hopefully i will get all these parts fitted next week and the car should sit and drive much better.
