    Default Exhaust differences??

Regularly see people on here fitting dual exit exhaust systems from a 2.2 or 3.0 petrol onto their 1.9 CDTi, so assume all brackets and dimensions are the same?

Sooooo as nobody seems to sell an aftermarket exhaust for the CDTi, would a system for a petrol vectra fit my 1.9??

Looking to de-cat and generally de-restrict the system.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for dual exit, just a decat and derestriced system.

Can have a system made locally for just over £300, just wondering what other options are available

IIRC the dual exhaust from all cars with a dual exhaust will fit the 1.9 cdti. Its only the 1.8's that require a reducer to fit the front pipe. Sure they are all 55mm bore pipes. HTH

Cheaper to go aftermarket than genuine VX mate.

Talk to a few local places and tell them what you are after. Unsure on the decat side of things but watch new mot regs.

IRC my standard 2.0T exhaust was 2" into 1.75" back boxes.

If you were to fit genuine VXR duals you would need an adaptor for your CDTI mate, i cant remember the size though

If your going for the looks then get one made, its not always going to give massive gains de catting as we seen today on the rolling road meet (east mids burton upon trent meet), I have a cdti fitted with a 2.0 turbo twin system, Its a straight through pipe into twins as from the factory, therefore doing away with the cdti large mid box & also gave me + 500rpm on its own, bought 2nd hand great cond £100., straight fit as are the 2.2's plus 'some' do this, leave the cat in place because of the up & coming mot laws & gut the cat inners .
