    Default Adhesive tape

Hi guys, I'm having problems, I've got a number plate surround which I'm sticking on the back bumper.(I don't want it screwed on), anyway no matter what I use , it just ain't holding it in place, within 48 hours either one side or the other has popped off... Can anyone recommend a good, strong double sided tape....no issue with the cost as long as it works... Thanks..

3m double side foam tape(green stuff) is pretty good, but tbh there is going to be a lot of weight on it by the time you add the number plates. Using a hair dryer to heat the bumper will aid the initial adhesion. Can I ask why you don't want to just screw the holders on?

I think you'd need number plate fixing tape. Try Halfords

I'm thinking I may actually screw the holder to the bumper and then stick the number plate on after...

If it's coming unstuck, it's because there's something oily stopping it from sticking properly. You need to really thoroughly clean the surface to get rid of all traces of wax and oil. Use meths or a non-oil based degreaser.

I've used double sided foam tape to fix number plates on for decades, and they even stand up to car washes.

Use some tigerseal. Its not something you're likely to change is it?

No nails double sided tape, from B & Q.
It comes on a roll or pads just like the number plate sticky pads. It is super strong.
My front plate kept popping off because it was curved (not the Vx) and it's never moved since.
