Default CDTI 150, all in all a good one

    Hi All,
I have spent alot of time deciding will I change my 08 veccy with 117k on the clock. The dmf and altenator were done at 50k miles and still seem ok.
And, I have come to the conclusion from looking at all the other forums, audi/vw, ford, toyota etc that the cdti with all its faults is proberily one of the best thats out there. Maybe the honda is better but i am not that sure.
If I have to change a flywheel, inlet manifold, egr and altenator besides the normal wear and tear over the next 120k miles I really dont think thats to bad. upto 240 k miles, a friend of mine has a 2003 c220 diesel with 190k miles and he has put a series amount of money into the car.Not to mind he paid a fortune for the car to start with a few years back.

    What you guys think!!!!!!!

Its really hard to know what to but these days as they all seem to have faults , i think its just a matter of luck if you get a good 1 or not best thing is to buy a good warrenty when you buy a fresher car
sometimes its better the devil you know

U absolutely right there when I had my silver estate which I got with 7k on the clock when finally went with 195k all had it all done dmf clutch manifold rear upper arms front wishbones alternator but hey car done nearly 200k so nearly 18 yrs of driving within just over 3 so I think is not bad going Compare to other more expensive brands. I'm on my second vectra now approaching 100 k mark fast

The veccy now has hit 150k miles sweet as a nut.
After 4.5 years of ownership it still puts a smile on my face.

    Hi all,
Just to give an update . Just hit 160k on my veccy going well. Have hiccups when starting from cold.
But cure when it hit normal operating temp.
Saw a mitsubishi lancer gs2 hatch back diesel for 2011 for 7k . Was wondering does any members have any experience of tbe diesel lancer hatchback .

    Thanks I advance
