    Default Car failed on MOT

My car has failed its MOT on rear tyre(s)

From what i could see its only the nearside rear is the problem, the way he has wrote the refusal form its both the rear tyres, but the offside one its absolutely fine.

The first tyre photo is the offside tyre.

    Others are nearside tyre.

I would be changing both those tyres, how did they get split like that, any ideas?

But from what i can see when i took the wheel off its both nail and cut is on the same tyre, the offside one is absolutely fine. The crack i think is just a result of budget tyres. They came with my 18" insignia vxr replicas

Btw this MOT test was done at kwikfit, the manager i know is on holiday and the chaps in there are all new. So it was like going to some random kwikfit place when i got there as they dont know me at all. Bit of a a** really. A retest fee if not done by tomorrow is £10, if the guy i know is there, there wont be a retest fee.

tyres crack on the side walls all the time now dont matter what brand it is

and the o/s/r might not looked crack when the wheel is off but when its on teh floor the cracks open up
i would say its only light cracking (just started) but replace both of them

i fail them all day long and it dont matter if you know the tester or not it is a fail
most likey i would of failed both as its the one thing that sticks you to the road so they have to be right

when i used to test i gave no leeway on anything ,safety is in every ones best intrest. you wouldnt want that car aproaching you from the other direction when a dodgy tyre or steering / brake component failed...i worked hard to get my testers licence,so i never compramised on peoples safety
