Default Another victim of a keyed car, advice please

Wife has just rang me to tell me some horrible little scum bag has keyed our car, from the boot the the bonnet on the ns, she says it's very deep. Is this a job for the mobile chip repair man or is it a body's hop job. I'm in work today doing overtime for a few pennies for our hols which will no be getting spent having the damage repaired (only for it to be again do doubt) so I hop the little sod is cosy in bed whilst I was out early this morning at work. I'll get some pics later when I get home maybe you can advise me better.

Yeah I didn't think it would be. Would every panel have to be re sprayed?

As a rule if you can catch the edge of the scratch with your finger nail, it will most likely be too deep to polish out.

If the edge of the scratch feels flat, a polish such as Meguiars Ultimate Compound or Gtechniq P1 might succeed at removing the scratch. More so if you have a DA.

As soulman stated, if it is down to the primer; bodyshop it is unfortunately.

It might be worth getting the local Scratchmaster type franchise to take a look. We've had a few company cars get key type damage, and they've been able to sort it out fairly cheaply in the carpark.

Not a guarantee that they'll be able to sort it, but at least it might be worth getting their opinion as to whether it can be corrected without having to respray the whole panel.
