1.8vvt on track?

Hi,

I'd just like opinions and just to see if anyone has any experience on track with a similar car?

Iv always wanted to go on track, Iv only had small hatchbacks before (saxo's, c2, fiesta) and still fancy it, however, I now have a vectra 1.8 which I know is far from a quick car. But I was wondering is this a silly idea taking this onto a track and having abit of fun? Even if I stick decent suspension and maybe strip it out to make it that bit lighter?

Iv been to tracks before and seen 1.1 saxo's and cars along those lines, which surely are slower round the track than mine?

Anyone been on track in a similar sort of engine. Also if I was to strip alot of weight (interior, spare wheel etc.) would it be around the speed of a 2.2 vectra?

If you only want some fun, then go for it.

If its for a competition then I'd say a Vectra would be nearly last on the choice list, even if it is all stripped out, it won't be as quick as a 2.2.

Yeh it would only be a few laps for abit of fun. From looking at parkers there doesn't seem to be a big difference in performance. There is only about half a second between both 0-60 times. So hopefully if I can cut over 100 kgs off the weight then surely I could compete with the 2.2.

Anyone with any experience on the track with a vectra?
