I've been having issues with the beast (2.0dti) and plasma stuck his tech2 on it for me(gentleman that he is)and it brought up the code for the boost actuator valve......
having swapped it over with a coul[pe of others I now dont think the problem lies their....... and I think the problem may be with the boost sensor(MAP) that tells the ecu what to do with the actuator to regulate boost.........
I've seen the how to test a MAP sensor video:

and am slightly confused as according to the leaflet form bosch the sensor output to ecu should start at about 1.5v on idle and increase up to a max of about 4.5v under maximum boost...... which sounds the opposite of what the tech on the video says.... or am I confusing pressue and vaccum??
having watched the video and (back pinned/paperclip) tested the MAP sensor, I know that it is getting 5 volts in (as expected) but sending 1.6v out to the ecu(rather than th 5 in the video)whether the ignition is just turned on (2nd click) or the car is on and idling(like a ffffiinf tractor BTW)..... and when i did the suction test with the just ignition on- (using hose and lung method as i don't have a vac gauge) the voltage drops from 1.6v to 1.3v
so the qusetion is- can anyone tell me what the in and out voltage is on their (good) diesel MAP with the ignition just turned to the second click and then when the engine is started????
or are there any clever folks who know the answer without having to test anything??? lol
