Hope someone can shed some light and offer some ideas before i take it to a garage.
The car is an 04 1.8 SRi. A few days ago the car started hunting for revs whilst on the way to work, and the mpg fell through the floor. Come to drive home later and everything was 'fine' again.
Car sits on drive all night and most of the next day until its time for work again and now it wont start, its trying to turn over but cant/wont. Leave it for 10minutes go back and this time it starts, but in limp mode (car with spanner on dash) and ive got the 4000rpm limit. Turned engine on and off a couple of times and the light goes out, jobs a good un i think and go to work...Coming home the fun starts again! Half an hour spent getting the car to start and now nothing will make the warning light extinguish and to keep it company the engine lights come on as well (the emissions one iirc).
I used the inbuilt fault reader and its given me the following:
P0109 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Intermittent
P1110 IAT Sensor (D/C) Open/Short
P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
P0160 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)
Ive called at one garage local to me and he wont offer any advice and reckons the codes are rubbish and i'll need to pay him £50 for him to read them...asked him whether if it gave the same codes he'd wave his charge and he saw his arse so i'll not be going back!
Anyway before i find somewhere else can anyone offer some advice on the codes etc. Is there a chance that changing/fixing one will 'cure' others or are they all seperate individual issues...the car was as far as i can tell perfectly fine upto this point so seems strange to me that all of the above would pack in at the same time.
Sorry for the long post, and many thanks for anything anyone can offer.
