    Default Fault warning lamp

I have a problem (warranty) on my 1994 1.9 cdti elite estate, the spanner/oilcan warning light will not go out despite numerous replacement parts from my local Vaux service centre (mostly cat & exhaust sensors I understand), this problem statred in August and they claim to be waiting for a software upgrade from GM to make this problem go away. Anybody heared of a similar fault or know anything about this at all??

    A very frustrated David

If its 1994 then it must be a Vec B, doubt there will be any upgrades.

Do you mean 2004 there was no Elite in the B range the comparable model would have been the CDX

    He means 2004... 1.9D & all that

Any Vx dealer would run a diagnostic check on the car & see what fault codes it had stored... one way I recommend is... got the radio code? Good... now take the negative terminal off the battery for about 30 minutes - or pull the ECU fuse out for the same amount of time. Start it up again afterwards & see what it says then.

This is just a suggestion - do so at your own risk. Works for me on my Saab - and they're closely related.

Yes I did mean 2004, must have been half asleep, but then it is in my Bio for anybody to look
They can get it to go off with a reset OK but it just keeps coming back on and showing the same fault code when there is nothing wrong with it.

There has nbeen no change at all either in performance or consumption at all.

If it's being repaired by a VX agent, then i can't see why they haven't just done the software flash, if thats all it needs??...

is it main dealer or independant??

What they are saying is it needs an upgraded version of the software and Vauxhall are still working on the glitch in the software that causes this eronius fault code to keep recuring. Frankly I am begining to think I should ring Vx direct but I don't have a number for customer service. It' a main Vx & Saab agent doing the work (or rather not doig the work)
