Default 2.0T poss belt & pulley squeal?

Hello, my 2.0T is making a very wierd squeeling sound when under load, its sounds like its coming possibly from the right front engine area, iv not long had the stage 4 maptun done to the car so iv had checked all the pipes & exhaust & theres no clear sign of fault there & is pulling like a train, no loss of power, it does sound similar to a pug 306TD but not as bad which makes me think its the belt, the belt dosent look to bad & it dosent do it when turning the wheel only when under load, is there any easy way i could check to see if it needs replaced? i have seen on here a few of you have changed the belt & pulley on these motors, what was your diagnosis to finding the fault with your belt & which pulley is common to go? I dont think the belt & pulley have ever been changed on this car its done 66000miles, any help atall would be fantastic!

Auxillary belt tensioner is the most likely suspect.

There's a good How2 for it, so you can probably fix it yourself:

yeah iv just been reading that, iv got access to a 2 poster ramp so thats half the battle, the only thing with this is it does it when the engine is hot or cold, i have noticed it chirpping on cold starts ie mornings before work a few weeks ago now its been getting worse the past week, prob because iv been hunting vxrs down haha, im sure someone had a similar fault to what i mean, http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...t=turbo+pulley, could i spray WD40 onto it to see if it goes quieter then if it does well know whats at fault or is that a waste of time? thanks for the fast response, im sure if you changed yours it was doing your head in lol

Mine had been squeaking for months, then suddenly got worse - when I would drive past a wall, the sound would echo back and be really noticeable.

Well changed the belt & tensioner & no joy, the car is still making an awful rattle under load. It may actually be the engine to exhaust manifold gasket, we took the manifold off when we changed the turbo & never replaced the gasket! My own fault really if it is
