Default VXR rear shocks on a Sri

Is it possible to fit rear shocks from a vxr on a 150cdti Sri hatch. I have fitted lowered 35mm apex spring as the back ones were snapped. But now I have still got a knocking noise which garage thinks is the shockers. What should I do. X

I think the VXR uses IDS suspension, so don't think its a straight forward swap. A knocking noise from the rear is more than likely upper control arms or ARB bushes, have they checked these?

They didn't say anything about these. they said its not the anti roll bar part but can't be definite. They guessed the shocks but also advised me there was no leaking from them.dont know what to do just don't want to spend any more than I need to as car has already set me back over £2000 in last few months.

Anyone fancy a homer on fitting these as I can't be bothered anymore with a garage that can't even diagnose what a problem is.

Out of interest, not taking sides, but why do you take the forums view over the mechanics? Just replaced my, less than 12mths old b4s, with the original sachs, you'd be very surprised how many knocks have disappeared. What mileage have you done, shocks don't need to leak to be shagged. May also be a combination of things.

Don't know what to do!! Members on here deal with Vectras on a daily basis and mechanics only deal with them now and again. That's why I was listening to people on here. What's would you do?

Sri shocks are gas filled rather than oil filled so doubt they would show a leak
