    Default 2.0 DTI Ls

    Hi guys i bought a 2004 vectra 2.0 DTI Ls about three weeks ago 47000 miles on the clock and have this strange problem with loss of power/acceleration.
    Sometimes it kicks in right away,and other time is like a bag of S**t. about two weeks ago, the EML come on and gave me the emissions light, went to dealers, and they fitted a new ERG Valve and Loom Mod?.
    Since this is my first diesel, not sure what to look for, also when i turn of the engine it seems to run on slighty, and judder to a stop, is this right?

    Hi faz32770, yes its normal that it runs on a tad when turned off, also the problem could be the MAF sensor but that would have shown up when vx tech 2'd it.

    Hi thanx for the reply, i only noticed it after the erg valve was changed, maybe i should get it checked over again

    not sure if its the same engine as whats in my vec B but here goes,

    by the way it an 02 plate 2.0DTI/y20dth

    mine did this the other month and it was the vac pipe from the vec solanoid(sp) to the waist gate diaphram the rubber end had split and wasnt closing the waste gate thus all turbo presure was going in to the exhaust

    hope its as easier fix for you as it was for me mate

    Got car booked into dealers on thursday, they say that they will hook upto tech2 to see if any faults brought up, and if it clear there is no problem.
    But i know that when i try to accelerate it seems very slugish, i
    have changed the air filter it made a slight difference, so if any one can suggest what to ask them to check i would appreciate it
    also noticed that fuel eccomony as changed was getting about 260 to half a tank approx 30lts and its only 170ish, same type of driving

    Definately sounds like you've got air leaking in from somewhere, or dodgy MAF.

    Hi Guys just an update, car been to dealers today been on tech 2 not sure if it found anything, but when i went to collect it was asked to where the ERG valve was fitted, so told them and then was told one of the wires on the loom had been cut
    Not sure what to say to that, but they fixed it and the car does seem to be more responsive, time will only tell
