    Default Snapped door pin rod!

Yesterday when I was cleaning out the car I had the passenger door open my jacket some how managed to end up over the door pin. I turned around and then heard a clunk. I just thought the door pin had came off the rod it sits on but when I went too refit it there was a bit of the rod (about an inch long) that the plastic door pin sits on stuck inside the door pin!
I stripped the door panel off & ended up putting it back together as i couldnt see any way to fix this apart from replacing the rod.
Am I right in thinking that I'll need to replace the full door lock mechanism? There's a couple on eBay for about £15.
I couldn't believe it when it happened.

Do you know anyone who does copper brazing? That should do the trick.

I think it would be possible to weld it but my local friendly welder who stays next door is currently at the golf in USA so that's me snookered.
I've ordered a second hand door lock mechanism from eBay for £15 hopefully it'll be simple enough to swap over.

Just had another thought for a tempoary repair. Use an electrical block connector, the type with the screws onto each end of the broken rod. i know that would be dependant on space behind the door card and length of the rod , but worthwhile looking at.

    That's a brilliant idea
Wish I'd thought of that before I bought a door lock solenoid from eBay.

Just been out for a look I've lost the little orange clip that goes into the door pin! Can't find any on eBay either looks like I'll need to go to Vauxhall for 1. Unbelieveable !!!
