    Default New Engine Addition

Not sure where to put this thread... so here goes... Today I did an oil change (again) full oil and filter with Magnatec 5W30.... all good so far.

Now then, a while ago I bought this little gadget to make my life easier, fitted it today as it seems sensible.....

Anyway enough of this waffel.. here are some pics... (it's the copper gold sump plug with a tap)

I'm a little worried about loosing it on a speed bump, but it's no lower than the 'zaust, so might be OK. Seems to still be in place after 20 miles are so, and no leaks so far...

Hmmm. I would say whereas I like the idea of the simplicity of this, I'm with you on the concerns of it potentially getting knocked off. Not sure I fancy having one on my motor.

Looks a good idea, but how come no one (manufacturers) has thought of it. This is one to monitor over a period of time.

    Wink

I got something similar I brought it from demon tweaks but it's in 2 parts just take out the old sump plug put the new one back in and fit a cap on it when you need to drain the old simply take the cap of and insert the second part of the drain plug and twist it's got a tube on it so the old oil goes direct into you drain pan no more mess once you finish just untwist pull out and put the cap back on it's not cheap about £45 but it save you time if you got a rounded of sump plug

Yeah I saw it online and thought it looked like a good idea.
For the 45 quid it cost, I thought I'd give it a go.
As said it's a test of time with these things. Not sure why the OEM's haven't done anything like this.

I'll keep my eye on it over the next few months, and keep you posted with the updates. Personally i hope it turns out to be a keeper.
