    Question whats this wire/connection for?

While poking around removing and installing stuff I came across some unused connections.. Any ideas as to what they are for?

This first one was tucked up the left hand side of the centre console behind the headunit area.. The one that is glowing from the camera flash is like a antennae type

This second connection is in the roof console behind the mirror above the alarm sensors.. Its not for an auto dimming mirror or the microphone..

First picture is for a DAB unit mate, VX put this dash loom in a lot of cars, the arial one connects to the drivers footwall plug and I think it can be used for the GPS feed from the roof arial.
You managed to get the arial wire fed through past the dash yet?

for the second one, both these pics are from my signum and it already has a factory fit CD70 and CID wiring which i use funnily enough for a cd70 and CID.. The wife has dab unit and i have not see that connection into the back of it

As for the first one, if its for auto rain sensor I will not be bothering with that.. thanks.

Lee, that fun starts tomorrow on the vec.. today i was just working on my signum..

'Regen' = 'rain' in German. Vectra Cs are built in Germany. So I wonder what a connector labeled 'regensensor' would plug into?

Found that 18 pin plug behind my dash this morning too while plumbing in my Aux in socket tray funnily enough, I assume it's for the Vx factory sat nav connection to the screen or DAB or something?

Thats what i am thinking Ian. I am about to remove the last of the dab stuff from the wifes vec tomorrow so will see if this is attached to the dab module.... I have another idea of what it could be but will see when i get behind the glove box..

I can confirm that the DAB connector is an 18 pin plug - so the connector in picture 1 does look like it could be for DAB unit.

And I assume the aerial would be the DAB antenna input no doubt.

OK, I now know that the Fakra connector will not do the GPS signal, not sithout unwrapping it from the dash loom.
Nige, I did my CD70 today, arial, arial loom and all, the driver's footwell plug is quite simple when you actually have the time to look at it, there are 2 clips holding the arial wiring plug in, simples.
I have ordered a fakra GPS off of eBay, that should have mine up and running lovely with the factory fitted look too.
Fancy cutting the Rain sensor plug off for me Nige?
