    Default "safeguard"

was messing about with my interior lights console last night, installing LED panels in the map reading lights, got them fitted nice n flush after fitting the frosted perspex,so switched on the car, noticed that the radio display (the 3 lined version, time, station, range) just came up with the time then displayed below was 'safeguard'

so went & disconnected the battery for over an hour,re-connected & switched on the radio, now the time,radio1 & range came up as usual.......................then after a few seconds it change to just the time & 'safeguard'

now, have i done something?,i checked the roof loom to make sure it was connected the right way & properly connected, but all looks good

    any suggestions????

I had this too - remove the front interior light unit and unplug the alarm sensor plug. Then plug it back in again and refit the light unit.

What happens if you press the 'disable ultrasonic sensors' button on the dashboard then shut the door and lock the car? In other words, set the alarm with the movement sensors disabled. If it doesn't show the 'Safeguard' warning when you unlock it, then you know it's because the ultrasonic sensors aren't connected properly.

If the alarm system can't see the ultrasonic sensors when it initialises (because of a poor connection maybe) then it won't be able to set properly and puts the 'Safeguard' warning up to let you know. On mine simply unplugging them and plugging them back in sorted it.
