    Default Worried

Recently i have noticed that my car is slightly lower at the rear on the passenger side!! Although i dont know if it is me being paranoid!!

If it is i am hoping it will just need replacement shocks at the rear! The car has only done 48000 miles, has anyone else had similar issues?

It won't be caused by shocks, it's probably a broken coil spring.

Or if you're lucky you may have caught it in time, mine was sitting lower on one corner and it was the spring collapsing, hadnt actually broke yet. Great time to upgrade and lower on new springs

I've not done much work on the car myself, how easy is it to replace the rear springs?

Fairly easy, and easier than doing the front ones. There's a How2 for it on here.

Dont rule out your shocks thou. 45K Miles is about right for them to be replaced anyway.

Mine were sized at 40k and new ones made a world of difference.

As said, good time to put Eibachs on.

My rear spring snapped on the Signum last week.
Piece of cake to replace, just drop the lower arm. Takes longer to get the jacks and tools out and put them away than to do the job.
Doing the other side next week, should really be done in pairs anyway. It's going to snap anyway. Had the fronts done last year, I just knew the rears would go.

I agree that the shocks could be worn by now, but it's unlikely that they'd cause a corner to sag when the car is stationary; after all, it's the springs that hold the car up rather than the shocks. Worn shocks are much more likely to show themselevs when the car is moving, rather than standing.
