    Default Y20DTH Diesel Pump

Looks like it's curtains already for my 53 plate Veccy (only just acquired). My mechanic tells me it's the fuel pump gone and his diesel pal say's it is around £1,200 on the cheap without labour. Vauxhall are supposedly around £2,000 for the same part. Anyone know a way around this as car set me back £1,000 as it is.

Haynes say's you shouldn't remove Pump ECU and that is what this auction is for (Pump ECU Recon).

If it is screwed then you might have nothing to lose. If they are able to sort it out and save you hundreds then brill. If its not the ecu then you will be breaking it or selling it for spares or repair anyway.

At this time it runs very rough. As you power down the road it starts to kangaroo hop in and out of power. My mechanic cleared all the stored codes and keeps getting the same one coming back (P0149-Fuel Timing Malfunction) along with the EM light and Car/Spanner symbol. It stalls at idle without warning but appears a tiny bit better when warm. Already had the EGR Valve off and used a can of Wynn's EGR3 Cleaner which sorted the valve but it still keeps doing it, also my mechanic confirmed that the EGR is functioning as it should (can be heard working with bonnet up).

If you watch the video for the 10p eBay listing, you can see he clips some wires to remove the ECU Module but i am not sure what these wires are and if they can be replaced easily?????
I don't have any tools or kit to repair electronics or wiring.
This method would save a fortune as you don't need to take off the timing chain or the pump itself.
Has anyone on here had one done before?????
