Default navi + steering wheel swap

I have just got a vectra c for the other half with engine damage - 1.9cdti threw the belt while the previous owner was having an MOT.

In order to fix i got a full written off SRI with navi etc and he steering wheel with the control buttons, i have seen that all you need to do to retro fit the navi is install the matched screen and obtain the code for the radio however can anyone tell me will the steering wheel also retrofit and would it need to be enabled on the car or will it work straight away?

Expect many questions over the next few weeks.

    Thanks

    James

depends on the diffece in the steerign wheel controls, if they are the same on both the its just a swap.

Would have thought its just a case of telling the cars what's now fitted.

Think in cim with tech 2

Yep, I can confirm that the CIM needs to be told that scroller controls are fitted, otherwise the horn will sound when you press any of the controls on the right steering wheel spoke.

Do note though, that you will need the steering wheel back plate too.
My 2005 Vectra energy came with out controls... it also came without any connector pins and two of the four wires in the squib connector / wheel backing plate.

There is a how 2 for retro fitting scroller controls.

Note also that there are a couple of types of scroller controls - depending upon whether you have pre-facelift or facelift steering wheel, and 3 or 4 spoke steering wheel.

Sorry to throw in a few spanners, but fore-warned is fore-armed.
