    Default URGENT!!! rear coil springs.

Hi folks further to my recent issue with car pulling to the left, my rear coil spring is broken so i went to fix this before taking to get the car re-aligned etc. got a rear set replacement second hand (excellent condition) from my local scrappy. its the offside one thats broken and there seems to be a difference between old and new springs. the one i have on the car at the moment the springs are thick in the middle but they get thinner at either end of spring. But the new springs i have are the same thickness all the way. have i got the wrong ones or are these just a different make? urgently needing some help as i need the car back together before dark lol.

also does it matter which way they go on?

    thanks for any help guys.

Did you match your axle weights to the car you got the springs from?

Have you got lowering springs ATM?

Sounds like you have progressive springs.

The "new" ones should be ok either way round.

Did you get them off correct model ie Sri is lower than design

Im on my third set of rear springs. I've even done lowering springs and they snapped too. Id guess it's jst different brands. I've had loads of different kinds on through different cars. A guess as long as there off the same model u should be kool. Im sure others will be along to give there views too.

here is what i mean all will become clear very soon. my car is standard as far as im aware, but by looking at these ones i think they are either lowering springs or from the diesel perhaps? what worries me is that she never asked for engine size petrol/diesel etc i told her as i thought it was important. looks like ill have to stick the broken one back on then, and go get a refund or the proper ones. grrrr

there a big reputable company so they do all there parts via computer its not like your run of the mil scrappy, da autoparts they must have like 10,000 cars or so. So id have thought they would know all this.... guess not then lol.

please note these springs are modified and shorter than the standard ones but have thicker coils to compensate

I still have the standard rears off my diesel hatchback but you're probably a bit too far away to pick them up.
