    Default Spanner light no codes

Well, got the spanner light on, but no codes are present. Used an Autel code reader, but nothing there. Even when I clear the previously stored code (light goes out then eventually come on again).

Car seems to drive fine, maybe a good thrash might help.

    Recent history:
Jan - cleaned EGR + fitted Fiat gasket
Also boost sensor. Gave an error code as I'd fogotten to reconnect the plug.

March - Cleaned MAF sensor (contact cleaner sprayed at a distance). No problems with that!

Always use Shell, but recently been using two stroke oil (only 200ml per tank).

    Any ideas?

Oh, last time I looked, swirl valve bar was still on (been replaced couple of years ago).

Had a new filter on a year or so ago. So could be that.

Typical as I'm off for the weekend to Nottingham to see relatives, so need to car to last 200 miles and back.

Strange as it came during my journey (and not the start). Although doesn't rule it out though.

It had the glow plug relay box done 3 years ago (same time as the inlet manifold).

I'll check the plugs later and then drain the fuel filter next.

    Thanks for the responses.

    Just checked the car.
Key in ignition and waited 5-10 secs, then started with no EML!
I'll see when I drive home tonight if it stays that way.

Just noticed that the MPG was down quite a bit, so not sure if it's done a regen or gone into limp mode. Although the engine didn't feel any different!
