Default What GSI brake setup to buy?

I need to change my pads, so thought I might as well stick new discs on as well...

I want drilled an grooved, but not sure what type or where to buy from, any suggestions?

my fronts are 314 and back are 292 (I think) vented.

I was just thinking of putting new standard discs on back but changing front to drilled and grooved, thoughts?

sounds good to me, you can always get police spec pads from VX to go with the new discs

Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

Don't bother with drilled and grooved
You will get better performance from simply using new pads and discs

My current front discs are at the end of their life, and I can feel it!
I am just waiting for the front pads (third set to these discs) to wear out

The difference with new pads and discs is considerable
Personally, I think the pads lose their perfomance once they are about 70% worn

I've also compared standard and police spec front pads, didn't notice any difference, they lasted about the same
    30K / 26K / 18K miles and 25K / 21K / (estimated 20K on present set) on each change

They should both be ventilated, 314mm on front and 292mm on rear

If you can get drilled and grooved discs at a relatively good price go for it. Otherwise just stick with the standard discs and uprate the pads to a high performance pad. QFM, RDA etc. If all you intend for the car is to drive it on public roads and not track it.

    Thanks for advice.

My car is just a road car, possible at some point my take it on a trackday though.

My discs are worn, but pads are relatively new.

    I just fancied a change.

I've found original discs and pads for @ £150 (all for corners)

That's about the same as from most dealerships, as pad and disc kits are heavily discounted

Cheers, I think that's what I'll do. Do you know an easier way of confirming my front disc size, apart from taking the wheel off and measuring? I have rear vented discs, so they must be 292. Just not sure if fronts are 304 or 314.
