    Default Road Noise

Although happy with my Vec c there is one thing that's a bit annoying and that's road noise, the car is a 08 1.9CDTi 120 that was privately owned and only done 32000 miles, compared to my old Astra H 1.3CDTi Life Estate the Vec is a lot noisier, you feel very bit of uneven road surface, basicaly it feels a lot less refined than the Astra, which is strange given that the Astra was the bog standard base model. Could this be down to the tyres? The tyres are Bridgestone Turanza ER30 215/55/R16.

I used to run nothing but Turanza's (only got two on now and two Neuton NT5000's) and couldn't really fault them, road noise seemed perfectly acceptable, but mine's a petrol maybe the heavier diesel...???...

Yeah, maybe it is something to do with the Deisel being heavier, I've just looked up reviews for the tyres, and the general feeling is that they are noisy.

Could be the tyres or your camber causung the tyres to feather. Had same problem recently and had tracking and camber done with 4 new Rainsport 2 XL's. Problem gone now.

Tyres make a world of difference. And premium brands make no difference. Can also be caused by uneven wear, generally on the rears they can wear like 50 p pieces causing a drone similar to a worn bearing.
