    Default Fao chris knott insurance..

    Dear sirs,

Can you advise why the CDTI 150 Vectra is so pricey to insure? I have insured with you as being the cheapest at £530!!

I am 40 years old, no points on my license and have insured for business use (Architect), and I live in a low risk category B area.

There are folk on here insuring 3.0 V6 and VXR Vecs cheaper than this. Also I've Just read that a 150 CDTI has been insured for £350...

So how come mine is so damn expensive?? Being insurers you must have the answer.

I think 15 or 16k per year. I recall my brother insuring his A6 for business use and cost him no more. I may get CK to do a revised quote with different details to see where the price is coming from.
In 3.5 years of owning a Vec CDTI ALL on the same details, the quote has gone from £300 to over £500

Shop around mate I do every year. Last year my insurer wanted to increase it by around £240 to £660 or something. Ended up getting it for £400. Thats on a 3.0 V6 estate, full protected ncb, 15'000 miles AND business use

I do buddy, renewal, then compare the market or similar, then flux etc and first time trying CK this time and they were by far the cheapest.

Direct Line wanted £1200!!... most hovered around the £650 to £750 mark.
