havnt seen it yet but i'd love to do it - although my imagination may be getting swayed by watching episodes of the dukes of hazzard lol

I watched a teeny bit of it, I cant believe it not just all staged.... How can one film crew be with the Moonshiners, and another with the Police trying to find the Moonshiners.. Surely the TV company would legally be obliged to tell the Police where the Moonshiners are, wouldnt they??

Yes mate seen them all so far, although I believe its a bit fake, but based on truth. I cant see a Fire Chief making a documentary about blatantly breaking the law.

The new season of Whale Wars is also on, thats a pretty good watch.

Yup pretty sure its all set up, but its funny to watch tickle and the effort they go to is impressive

I have it on series link on sky. I'm not sure how real or how staged it is?... I think there has to be an element of reality coz tickles p***ed most of the time and does himself some real injuries but at the same time why would any moonshiner go on TV?

Moonshiners is a TV series produced by the Discovery Channel that dramatizes the practice of American moonshiners who produce moonshine, an illegal substance that consists of a high proof of alcohol. The alcohol runs to about 180 proof. It documents their practice, law-evading techniques, and life.[1] It has been reported broadly that the show's producers claim the moonshine activity depicted is authentic. The local sheriff, however, claims that the illegal activity is simulated.
Virginia authorities have stated that no illegal liquor is being produced. Kathleen Shaw, a spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, told the Associated Press via email that, ""If illegal activity was actually taking place, the Virginia ABC Bureau of Law Enforcement would have taken action." [2]
Local residents who know the show's stars claim the so called "moonshine" is, in fact, nothing but water. Even the suppliers and customers of the Moonshiners are actually friends and family who willingly participate in the dramatization. The show's stars and creators did learn the techniques of making moonshine from their family. While the show itself is dramatized, the processes and stories on the show are based on their personal experiences and first-hand knowledge.
