Default Been in the garage today.

Well, i left my car at my local garage today so they could have a look at it and find out what the vibrations are about. Looks like there are a few issues.

    1. Small amount of play in the front driver's CV joint (came up in MOT)
    2. A little more play than that in the front passenger side CV Joint (came up in MOT)
    3. Rear passenger wheel BUCKLED!!!!
    4. Play in Rear passenger wheel bearing.
    5. All 4 wheels well out of balance.

They couldn't be sure that the drive shafts weren't bent as they say it's a big job to get them off and they need to go on some fancy machine.

Annoyed or what? I only just paid for my wheels balancing at my local tyre place. £20 well spent (not). The buckled wheel??? When did that happen? Don't remember anything that could have caused that. Oh well. At least i now know my car isn't going to explode on the motorway.

They've re balanced all the wheels and it seems a lot better now. Just reckon i need to get the buckle sorted to get rid of the last bit of vibration.

Had four wheel alignment and 4 wheels balanced on mine today.
    My vibrations have improved drastically.

Guy did say could do with new tyres due to the run out.
But not gonna change them just yet (all got 4mm of tread)

Stood and watched them do it mate. They didn't take them off. They were balanced on the hub. The only other person to take the wheels off is....... but i know it wasn't him.

The vibration suddenly started a couple of weeks ago. Can't think of any bumps/ knocks it had. I had a REALLY bad bump a few months ago whilst night driving down a dirt track but that would have affected the front wheels but they're not buckled. It would have to be something pretty amazing to go worse than that.

Balancing wheels on the hub maskes other problems like worn bushes etc. Always opt for the wheels off method mate
